Golden Thread

The overall aims of the service are to provide a safe, effective service that promotes independence and develops communities.

100% of the core staff team began as Connected volunteers and are all trained perinatal peer supporters, therefore, from the moment parents first connect with the programme they begin receiving an element of peer support. As a result, trust is built with a service rather than one individual.

Our Values

Strengths based – striving to recognise and build on individual strengths, supporting and empowering development wherever possible.

Relationship based – building reciprocal, respectful and honest relationships with all.

Evidence Based – continually ensuring a range of up-to-date and evidence-based information supports the development & delivery of the programme.

Nurturing – acknowledging and supporting the holistic well-being of all.

Inclusive – creating a non-judgrmental environment where individuals are respected and celebrated.

Competent - committing to ensuring a safe programme where effective policies, procedures and systems are adhered to at all times.

People who receive our service say:

“It’s been a pleasure to share everything with you and thank you for being there supporting me throughout everything, you made it so easy for me to talk to you about anything and everything. It’s never once felt ‘professional’ you’re like my friend that I’ve known for years. Thank you so much for everything.” -  A parent who had received 1-1 support.
